2011 Diocese of Vermont Annual Appeal The Diocesan Council and other leaders who participated in budget deliberations in 2010 recommended that the Diocese initiate an Annual Appeal in 2011 to close the gap between anticipated income and the funds needed to continue and develop important diocesan ministries. In the 2011 Narrative Budget, Council stated, "This appeal will allow us to engage in new or re-visioned programs and ministries. There are many who in the practice of personal generosity will joyfully give to support our mission." Diocesan Convention embraced this new initiative in approving the 2011 Diocesan Budget as presented. The goal is $100,000,
and the hope is that it will be reached by Ascension Day (June 2, 2011). The
Council and Bishop Ely encourage all in the Diocese to give to the Annual
Appeal at whatever level is comfortable. Donations to date have ranged
from $10 to $4,000. Gifts may be made as one-time donations or scheduled
over a period of time. How to give
to the 2011 Annual Appeal 1. Use the "give now" button to go to a secure webpage where you can create a secure password protected profile and make a one-time donation or schedule smaller donations over a period of time. You will be asked for basic information and will have the option of electronic transfer from your bank account or credit card payment. The basic information will be stored as your account on a secure site, so that in the future, donations or payments for registration fees can be made quickly and easily. The Diocese has contracted with VANCO Services, which meets the highest level of security standards (PCI Level 1), to provide this service. 2.
