Commission on Ministry
Committee on Christian Formation

The Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Vermont encourage all clergy and lay persons to be regularly involved in continuing education that fosters their Christian growth and spiritual formation. In the case of clergy, a national canon requires yearly commitment to continuing education for each ordained person and requires the diocese to keep a record of the results. To support the latter end, the Diocese requires that Clergy Letters of Agreement include a provision for granting the clergy person with two weeks each year for continuing education. On a broader basis, the Diocese provides funds for supporting continuing education for both clergy and lay persons.
