House of Deputies President Bonnie Anderson says, "let the gifts you are about to receive be signs of the ministry you share with all baptized persons and of the responsibility entrusted to you as Presiding Bishop, Primate and Chief Pastor of this family of the worldwide Anglican Communion."

Rabbi Myra Soifer, Dr. Azizah Y. al-Hibri, and the Most Rev. Njongonkulu Ndungane (Primate of the Church of the Province of South Africa) present oil, the symbol of reconciliation and healing. Other gifts were a Book of the Gospels, water, and bread and wine.
