Vermont Deputy Lee Crawford was part of the small sub-group of the World Mission Legislative Committee that crafted the final language adopted by Convention.

Resolution C056, Liturgies for Blessings (current version posted is the final version approved)
It says that bishops, "particularly those in dioceses within civil jurisdictions where same-gender marriage, civil unions, or domestic partnerships are legal, may provide generous pastoral response to meet the needs of members of this church." It authorizes the House of Bishops, in conjunction with the Standing Commission on Liturgy and Music (SCLM), to devise an open process that will invite church-wide participation in collecting and developing theological resources and liturgies. They are to report their efforts to the next General Convention in 2012.

The resolution "honor[s] the theological diversity of this church in regard to matters of human sexuality."

Resolution B012, A Resolution Concerning Pastoral Generosity in Addressing Civil Marriage
Submitted by most of the bishops from those dioceses in which civil marriage legislation has been approved (Connecticut, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont). This resolution was amended and adopted by the House of Deputies. The House of Bishops included some of its language in Resolution C056 (see above) and then did not act on Resolution B012.

Resolution C031, Rites of Holy Union for Same Gender Couples
Submitted by the November 2008 Convention of the Diocese of Vermont. Some language was incorporated into Resolution C056 that was finally adopted by Convention.
