Baptismal Ministry

In the Diocese of Vermont, we use the term “Baptismal Ministry” to describe our committed response to live out our baptismal promises within God's Creation so all may be aware that we are in communion with a Living and Sustaining God.

The materials on this page represent a variety of resources to use when exploring and engaging in Baptismal Ministry formation* in our diocese. They may be used by congregations, by vestries, by ministry groups in parishes, by diocesan committees, to name a few.

Our experience in ministry development tells us that using these resources in partnership with the diocesan Ministry Developer or Companion (Web page) from the Diocese will lead to more positive outcomes for congregations, covenant groups, various ministry teams, and others.

Contact Susan Ohlidal, Canon for Ministry Development, sohlidal@dioceseofvermont.org for information about using these resources and connecting with a Companion.

* Formation: the ongoing instruction and practice of life with Christ spanning the time from cradle to grave. It is living out Christ's life everyday. This process changes constantly, seeks continually, and draws mainly from scripture, tradition and reason. To maximize formation, efforts must be intentional, deliberate, measured, and personal.
