This year's Diocesan Convention will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church,
85 West Street, Rutland. All events will take place at Trinity except
the Convention dinner, which will be at the Franklin Conference Center,
One Scale Avenue (turn into the Howe Center, which is on Strongs Avenue).

In
addition to the legislative tasks of Convention, there is also the opportunity
for discussion, reflection, education, worship, and meals together.
Convention
Choir: A new anthem,
We Sing of God, by Vermont composer and Episcopalian Sara
Doncaster, has been commissioned by the Diocese, in celebration of its
175th anniversary. It will be sung at the Eucharist. Singers are needed
to form a choir for this and other music. There will be rehearsals
in various parts of the Diocese in late October (see below). The mandatory
full rehearsal will be on Friday afternoon of Convention, November
7, 12:15-2:15. the Eucharist will be the following morning, Saturday,
November 8, 8:30 a.m. (warm up 7:30-8:15 a.m.). All singers are welcome! Regional

Convention
Exhibits will be open Friday, November 7th from noon until
end of day and on Saturday, November 8th from 8am until the conclusion
of the lunch break
Convention 101 and Meet-the-Candidates (Friday, 12noon – 1pm) In
addition to the Hearings there will be an opportunity for delegates to attend
Convention 101, a short course in the “whys and wherefores” of
the convention business session. New and seasoned delegates have found this
session very helpful.
The
Hearings (Friday,
1pm – 2:30pm) on
proposed resolutions, canon changes, and the diocesan budget provide
a condensed forum for delegates to discuss briefly the issues that
will come to the floor of Convention. Members of the Resolutions Committee,
Canons Committee, and Council (for budget hearings), as well as those
individuals who submitted the resolutions or canon changes will be
on hand to answer your questions. Delegates are expected to have attended
one of the Pre-Convention Hearings during the afternoon session of
the Ministry Fairs when these issues are discussed in great detail.
Bill McKibben – Forum – (Friday, 3pm – 4:30pm) Acclaimed
author and environmentalist, Bill McKibben will lead a forum on climate
change from 3pm to 4:30pm at Trinity Church – Rutland. Tickets
are required and are free. To reserve tickets, call
toll free (Vermont only) 800-286-3437, or fill out the form below.

days that your request has been received.

Evensong – (Friday, 5pm)
Dinner – (Friday, 7pm) At the Franklin
Conference Center – immediately following Evensong at Trinity. Registration
and payment ($29/person) are due by October 6. Download form.
Saturday we begin with Eucharist at Trinity Church and
then a full day of business.
The anticipated adjournment is 3:30pm or
so.

lunch is provided at Trinity. There
is a charge of $29 per person for dinner. There is no charge
for lunch.
Parking is available at conveniently located
city parking garages. Limited parking at the church lot. You might also consider
parking at the Franklin Conference Center on Friday afternoon and car pooling
from there to Trinity (about 1 mile away)
