“Look to Yourself & See What You Can Do”
The Official 2007 Convention Youth Presence
Be part of the parallel program designed to introduce young people to Diocesan Convention and the polity of the Episcopal Church. Young people in grades 6 through 12 and adults who serve in congregations in youth leadership roles are invited to register and participate at Convention.
Designed by young people and the diocesan Dispatch of Business Committee, “Look to Yourself & See What You Can Do” begins by attending any one of the Ministry Fair Days, which will include a special Convention 101 training for participants in the Youth Presence during the lunch period.
At Convention, young people will have lunch on Friday with Episcopal Church Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, attend the presiding bishop’s Friday afternoon public forum on global poverty at the Ira Allen Chapel, and participate in all the Convention activities, including an opportunity to be seated with delegates and to speak on the floor of Convention.
Young people
will stay at the Bishop Booth Conference Center Friday night. There
will be a time for a youth social and Compline following the Convention
dinner.
