Speaker and Preacher DuPlantier has been involved in Anglican ministry in the Middle East, most recently working with a center for healthcare for Palestinian children in and around Jerusalem and the West Bank. After Hurricane Katrina, he mobilized the cathedral community in a variety of relief efforts. One led to the Jericho Road Episcopal Housing Initiative, a low income housing LLC sponsored by Episcopal Relief and Development and the Diocese of Louisiana. The cathedral’s bicentennial fell just two months after the 2005 hurricanes, and duPlantier formed a partnership with the New Orleans Jazz Orchestra. That led to the commissioning of a major work for the bicentennial, “All the Saints,” by Irvin Mayfield. Lodging Bishop Booth Conference
