Welcome to Church
of Our Saviour
at Mission Farm!
If you are looking
for a church that . . .
• welcomes your mind, not just your wallet
• invites all people, and means it,
• believes that doubt is not the opposite of faith,
• proclaims a Gospel of love,
• is centered in God, grounded in prayer, affirming of life, and living
in hope,
Then come and see . . . .
The church building
is open daily for prayer and meditation, and all are welcome.
Hospitality,
worship, warmth, and good food are all part of the life at Mission
Farm. Visitors, neighbors, and guests are always welcome to join
us for worship, retreat, or just to wander over the 170 acres of
woods and meadows preserved here. On this quiet bit of land
in the beautiful Sherburne Valley, you will find our Church, Heminway
Guest and Retreat House, Mission Farm Bakery, Vicarage (clergy
residence) and a stretch of woods and trails that encompasses river
and hillside.
We are a small
congregation, seeking to live out Jesus' command to love God and
our neighbor. Members are committed to welcoming and including
all who come to us, regardless of race, religious background, nationality,
differing abilities, or kind of family.
Worship is at
the center of our community life, and we strive to keep it open,
prayerful, and engaging.
God calls us
to lives of justice as well as love, and we try to embody
that justice. To this end we have committed ourselves to a
few areas of outreach:
• The Rutland County Women's Network, collecting items for their guests.
• Cristosal, a Vermont based ministry with the Episcopal Church in El Salvador.
• Heminway Guest and Retreat House, offering accommodations for individuals
and small groups from the church and community at very affordable rates.
Mission
Farm Bakery
Mission Farm baker Tim Owings lives a contemplative life in a log cabin at Mission
farm and operates a wholesale bakery. He produces a variety of products sold
at local retailers and on the internet (see link below). He also does catering
for guests at Heminway House. He may be reached at 802-422-4689.

Tim's products
include fruit tarts that may be ordered on the Web through Monastery
Greetings. The site also carries his special Easter cookies. |

Heminway
House, named for the former rector who converted the carriage
barn next to the rectory into a house for retreat guests, is located
directly across Mission Farm Road from the church. The simple accomodations
for up to 16 are available for use by church and non-profit groups.

Location
The Church of Our Saviour is located on Mission Farm Road, a short loop off Route
4, east of the Killington access road and midway between Rutland and Woodstock.
When approaching from Rutland, Mission Farm Road is the first left just after
the end of the long, straight stretch known as the Sherburne Flats. From
Woodstock, the turn is 0.9 miles past the Route 100 intersection at West Bridgewater
and just before the pedestrian overpass at the Killington Skyeship, or gondola.
